M. Takehana et al., PREPARATION OF ZINC-OXIDE VARISTOR BY A WET CHEMICAL METHOD, Materials science & engineering. B, Solid-state materials for advanced technology, 41(1), 1996, pp. 186-189
A wet chemical method has been applied to synthesize zinc oxide varist
or in order to obtain chemically pure and homogeneous product. Efficie
nt yield was attained for precursors by a precipitation method using z
inc acetate as a starting material with praseodymium oxide and cobalt
chloride as additives. The calcination process, crystalline size of zi
nc oxide, additives distribution and voltage-current curve were charac
terized for the samples, which were prepared by a wet chemical method
with or without calcination, and by a ball-mill method for comparison.
