Abstract
We report a case of a spontaneous vertebral arteriovenous fistula trea ted with interlocking detachable coils (IDC). The patient had presente d with paroxysmal dizziness and a cervical bruit. Angiography demonstr ated a high flow arteriovenous fistula of the right extracranial verte bral artery. Embolisation was performed via the transarterial approach using 2 IDCs. The advantage of IDCs in the treatment of high flow art eriovenous fistulae is discussed. (C) Pearson Professional 1996
