The female genital tract is an infrequent site of metastasis, particul
arly for extragenital primaries, The ovary and vagina are the sites wi
thin the female genital tract that are the most frequently affected. T
he uterine corpus, especially the endometrium, is a distinctly unusual
site of involvement. primary lung cancer is the source of metastatic
tumor to the female genital tract in less than 5% of patients, in the
reported instances of endometrial involvement by a primary lung cancer
adenocarcinoma has been the reported subtype. Here, we report a case
of well-differentiated neuroendocrine carcinoma of the lung metastatic
to the endometrium in a 68-year-old woman with postmenopausal bleedin
g. Immunohistochemical studies were performed to confirm the neuroendo
crine nature of the neoplasm.
