Abstract
PdCl2Se6 und PdBr2Se6, chalcogenrich complexes of palladium halides wi th Se-6 groups as ligands have been prepared by reactions of Pd metal with melts of selenium and SeX(4) (X = Cl, Br) at 180 degrees C in clo sed silica ampoules. The new compounds have been characterized by vibr ational spectra and thermal analysis. The X-ray analysis of PdCl2Se6 s howed a polymeric structure, built up by chains of linear PdX(2) group s connected by Se-6 groups in a chair conformation.
