Blood lead testing has been conducted in a large group of children who
receive their health care from the Department of Defense. The blood l
ead levels were comparable to levels detected in civilian suburban set
tings. Among the 90,976 children who were tested, the incidence of chi
ldren with blood lead levels greater than or equal to 10 mu g/dl was 2
