Abstract
The notion of a virtual geometrical symmetry group of a nonrigid molec ule with energetically nonequivalent equilibrium configurations is int roduced. Due to this, methods of qualitative analysis of intramolecula r effects for such molecules using the concept of symmetry group chain s are significantly generalized.
