I. Stulikova et al., RECOVERY AND RECRYSTALLIZATION OF RAPIDLY SOLIDIFIED MG RIBBONS, Physica status solidi. a, Applied research, 157(2), 1996, pp. 345-350
Microcrystalline ribbons of commercially pure Mg were prepared by melt
spinning. Their good thermal stability during isochronal annealing fr
om room temperature up to 300 degrees C was revealed by means of elect
rical resistance measurements, microhardness measurements, light micro
scopy, and positron annihilation spectroscopy. The rolling of rapidly
solidified ribbons at room temperature makes the stability of their mi
crostructure worse between room temperature and 300 degrees C due to t
he onset of recovery, primary recrystallization, and grain growth.
