Abstract
The synthesis and characterisation of the novel products [(CO)(3)Fe(di ene-NH2-diene)Fe(CO)(3)](+) and [(CO)(3)Fe(diene-NH-diene)Fe(CO)(3)] f rom the reaction of the tricarbonyl(eta(5)-dienyl)iron cationic comple xes 1 and 2 with ammonia are reported; this contrasts with the anlogou s reactions of these cations with primary and secondary amines which l ead only to mono-addition products.
