Abstract
The chloride, bromide and thiocyanate catalysed S-nitrosation of (NH2) (2)CS and (NMe(2))(2)CS show the unusual reactivity sequence NCS(-)app roximate to Br(-)greater than or equal to Cl- because the reactivity o f thiourea and its tetramethyl derivative are sufficiently great to ma ke the formation of the nitrosyl halide rate determining.
