Arylenedi-(1,2,4-triazines) appear not to react with dienophiles other
than those, e.g. enamines, which are highly electron-rich; Diels-Alde
r cycloadditions of 1,2,4,5-tetrazines, however, readily occur with bi
s-dienophiles such as diethynyl-aromatic compounds and bis(enol trimet
hylsilyl ethers).
