Abstract
A chromium-containing medium-pore molecular sieve (Si/Cr>140) having M EL (CrS-2) topology catalyses selectively the oxidation of various phe nols to the corresponding p-quinones with 30% H2O2 or 70% tert-butyl h ydroperoxide (TBHP) as the oxidant.
