Abstract
p-Isopropylcalix[4]arene was synthesized by alkylation of unsubstitute d calix[4]arene in the presence of ferric chloride hexahydrate. The st ructure of the compound and its benzene clathrate was established by N MR spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction analysis.
