Abstract
Precise conductance measurements are reported for tetraethylammonium p erchlorate (Et(4)NClO(4)), tetrapropylammonium perchlorate (Pr4NClO4), and tetrabutylammonium perchlorate (Bu(4)NClO(4)) in 2-methoxyethanol (1) + water (2) at 298.15 K. The limiting molar conductivity (Lambda degrees), the association constant (K-A), and the association distance (R) in the solvent mixtures have been evaluated from the conductance- concentration data using the 1978 Fuoss conductance equation. The resu lts have been explained in terms of ion-ion interactions and the struc tural changes in the solvent mixtures.
