Abstract
Large-sized fiat tetrametallomesogens containing palladium or platinum in their macroheterocyclic cores show wide ranging liquid crystalline properties, both thermotropic and lyotropic in apolar organic solvent s. Here, we briefly summarise recent work from our laboratory concerni ng these novel metallomesogens and related bis-metal analogues.
