Abstract
Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) form an integrated system to ensure th e quality and candour of toxicity data/reports. In turn, it assures th e Regulatory Authorities that such reports, submitted in support of se eking approval for manufacturing and marketing specified chemicals/mat erials, reflect reality. GLP principles are widely accepted and enforc ed for global accreditation and harmonisation of functions/studies wit h regard to the regulatory control and safety of industrial and enviro nmental chemicals. The promulgation of a National Policy on GLP implem entation in India is earnestly required to assert our credibility and competitiveness towards the toxicity testing and for the promotion of international trade.
