SIMULATION OF CARBON AND NITROGEN DYNAMIC S IN RURAL-AREAS

The simulation system CANDY describes all important soil processes con cerning the C-N-dynamics in rural landscapes. Important inputs are soi l physical properties, meteorological data and management information. The model works in daily time steps and produces outputs about the ni trogen state of the soil, the expected nitrogen mineralisation during the vegetation period and a number of additional ecological relevant i nformation. The integration within a geographical information system a llows the treatment of heterogenous areas.
