BIOTECH meets tradition: Some biotechnology companies are exploring th e potential of ancient remedies such as Chinese herbs in the hunt for sources of new therapies, but patenting issues and the painstaking nat ure of such research make this area less potentially profitable than t raditional pharmacology.
