Thyroid rumours can compromise the ail way by extrinsic compression or invasion of the trachea or larynx and damage to the recurrent larynge al nerve, In this report, the pedunculated extension oi a large anapla stic thyroid carcinoma penetrated through the posterior hypopharyngeal wall causing a partial hall-valve type obstruction of the laryngeal i nlet on inspiration, This unusual pattern ui invasion has not been rep orted previously.
