Thermopower measurements on the system Nd0.7Pr0.3Ba2-kSrkCu3O7 show th
at the insulator-superconductor transition for k greater than or equal
to 0.2 is accompanied by hole delocalization. Arguments are presented
to show that Sr substitution reduces the hybridization between Pr 4f
and O(2p pi-)orbitals and increases the hole density to sustain superc
onductivity.
