Abstract
A calorimetric approach is presented as a new flexible measurement str ategy for batch solution crystallizations. Through the estimation of t he heat release due to the advancement of the process, it is shown tha t important information may become available. Three potential applicat ions are envisaged and significant experimental results are reported. Calorimetry appears to be a valuable and powerful tool for the measure ment of supersaturation, the analysis and monitoring of crystallizatio n operations and for advanced process control.
