G. Fevotte et Jp. Klein, CALORIMETRIC METHODS FOR THE STUDY OF BATCH CRYSTALLIZATION PROCESSES- SOME KEY RESULTS, Chemical engineering research & design, 74(A7), 1996, pp. 791-796
A calorimetric approach is presented as a new flexible measurement str
ategy for batch solution crystallizations. Through the estimation of t
he heat release due to the advancement of the process, it is shown tha
t important information may become available. Three potential applicat
ions are envisaged and significant experimental results are reported.
Calorimetry appears to be a valuable and powerful tool for the measure
ment of supersaturation, the analysis and monitoring of crystallizatio
n operations and for advanced process control.
