S. Finnie et al., CHARACTERIZATION OF GROWTH-BEHAVIOR OF SMALL PARACETAMOL CRYSTALS GROWTH FROM PURE SOLUTION, Chemical engineering research & design, 74(A7), 1996, pp. 835-838
The industrial importance of crystalline particulates is well known. T
hey are the end result of many unit operations. However, basic data ab
out the physical nature of this varied class of materials is limited t
o producing a desired result in the product and this can cause problem
s for engineers attempting to design industrial crystallizers. Taking
a common pharmaceutical, paracetamol, this study shows how basic growt
h conditions can be used to tailor some of the physical properties of
the resulting particulate.
