Ha. Mclure et Sm. Yentis, GENERAL-ANESTHESIA FOR CESAREAN-SECTION IN A PARTURIENT WITH NOONANS-SYNDROME, British Journal of Anaesthesia, 77(5), 1996, pp. 665-668
We describe the anaesthetic management of a parturient with Noonan's s
yndrome. Her problems included severe cardiac disease, facial abnormal
ities and extreme phobia to needles. After intrauterine death at 30 we
eks' gestation, induction of labour was attempted and extradural analg
esia initiated using low-dose bupivacaine. She failed to progress and
underwent Caesarean section under general anaesthesia using awake oral
fibreoptic intubation.
