Abstract
A nea calculation model for optimizing the operating performance of a fan is carried out on the analysis of the energy transmission of airfl ow inside the fan. The corresponding designing method appropriate for the engineering applications is also proposed. A new type of the axial -flow fan, named YBT-4.01, used for local-ventilation in coal mining h as been designed with the aid of computer. It is shown from both the l ab test and field use that the performance of the fan designed is impr oved considerably compared with the old one.
