Abstract
The mixed sandwich complex [Cr(eta-C(6)H(5)Me)(eta-C7H6C6H4-Me-4)][PF6 ] 1 underwent a reversible one-electron oxidation to the radical dicat ion [Cr(eta-C(6)H(5)Me)(eta-C7H6C6H4-Me-4][PF6](2) 2; X-ray crystallog raphic studies on the redox pair revealed that the principal structura l alteration resulting from oxidation is a small increase in the metal -to-ring distances.
