Ar. Davydov et al., ANALYSIS OF MODELS DESCRIBING THE MECHANI CAL-PROPERTIES OF YARN MADEOF HIGH-STRENGTH HIGH-MODULUS FILAMENTS, Vysokomolekularnye soedinenia. Seria A, 38(9), 1996, pp. 1576-1581
Mechanical properties of three types of high-strength, high-modulus fi
bers of different nature were studied in tension. Polyester (Diolen 17
4S, ENKA), polyethylene (Dyneema SK-60, Dyneema), and polypropylene (R
equest 1481, Bonar) fibers were studied. Experimental data were analyz
ed within the frameworks of different models. It was demonstrated that
the extent to which the mechanical parameters (initial modulus and te
nacity) of monofilaments are realized in a yarn is controlled by the n
ature of filaments and the conditions of spinning the yarn. Models tha
t take into account the high elastic modulus of filaments were suggest
ed.
