Y. Nibu et al., DISPERSED PHOSPHORESCENCE SPECTRA IN A SUPERSONIC FREE JET BY ELECTRIC-DISCHARGE EXCITATION, Chemical physics letters, 262(5), 1996, pp. 615-620
Pyrazine and benzophenone were excited into the lowest triplet state b
y electric discharge and their dispersed phosphorescence spectra in a
supersonic free jet were observed. The bandwidth of the spectrum of py
razine is narrower than that of the spectra obtained with laser excita
tion. The experiment shows that electric discharge excitation is an ef
ficient technique for creating a triplet state molecule under collisio
n free conditions.
