Abstract
Absorption and photoluminescence studies of Zn1-xCdxSe/ZnSe quantum we lls, with well thickness at the crossover between two- and three-dimen sional exciton behaviors, show clear evidence of quantization of the e xciton-polariton center-of-mass motion. a thin-slab variational wave f unction model is used to reproduce the energy and the dispersion of th e center-of-mass states.
