Abstract
In order to develop a gas chromatographic method for determination of phenols in natural waters, some regularities of the distribution of ph enols between organic solvents of different classes and an aqueous sal ine solution are studied. The best conditions for eliminating petroleu m products from the concentrate are found. The losses in volatile phen ols due to preconcentration are insignificant and do not cause any inc rease in the relative error of determination by the internal-standard method. The results of determinations of phenols in amounts close to t heir maximum permissible concentrations (MPC) are given.
