Ia. Piterskikh et Vg. Baklykov, SPECIAL FEATURES OF THE METHODS OF THE US ENVIRONMENTAL-PROTECTION-AGENCY FOR THE DETERMINATION OF ORGANIC-COMPOUNDS IN WATER, Journal of analytical chemistry, 51(11), 1996, pp. 1099-1100
The EPA Method 625 (US Environmental Protection Agency), which determi
nes semivolatile organic compounds extractable with methylene chloride
in waste water by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS), was m
odified and metrologically certified. Analytical ranges were found for
each of the components; errors of measurement and error control stand
ards were calculated. The procedure involves the use of HP 5971A and 5
972A GC-MS instruments and is intended for determining 60 or 40 compon
ents in waste or potable water, respectively.
