Abstract
Complete stress-strain curves were obtained for 56 laterally reinforce d high-strength and normal-strength concrete panels that were tested i n biaxial compression-tension and uniaxial compression. Such thin elem ents may represent the response of such structures as shear walls deep beams and box girders. The results ware compared with observations on similar specimens rested in uniaxial compression in a previous invest igation. The study investigated the effect of concrete strength, later al tensile loading, reinforcement ratio, reinforcing bar spacing, and panel height on strain-softening behavior final crack formation, compr essive strength, and strains at ultimate.
