Diffuse pulmonary uptake of both technetium-99m-labeled methylene diph
osphonate (99(m)Tc-MDP) and gallium (Ga-67) citrate was noted in a pat
ient with chronic renal failure and indicated the presence of pulmonar
y calcinosis. The uptake of Ga-67 could be misinterpreted to represent
abnormal uptake due to an opportunistic infection.
