Rp. Baron et Aj. Pearce, UNDERSTANDING THE PERFORMANCE OF A LOW-PERMEABILITY GAS-RESERVOIR - HYDE FIELD, SOUTHERN NORTH-SEA, SPE reservoir engineering, 11(3), 1996, pp. 210-214
Hyde is a small, low-permeability gas field in the U.K. southern North
Sea, which has been developed using horizontal wells. Shortly after p
roduction startup in Sept. 1993, the field performance began to give c
ause for concern. Both wells were producing formation water, and the g
as deliverabilities were lower than predicted. This paper described ho
w field data were collected, analyzed, and used in a full-field simula
tion model to diagnose the cause of the poor performance and to plan t
he future development of the field.
