A theory is presented to describe the translational and rotational Bro
wnian motion of a nonspherical tracer particle that interacts with oth
er diffusing spherical particles around it. In order to apply this the
ory, approximations must be introduced that allow us to express the tr
acer-diffusion properties of the tracer particle in terms of the stati
c structural properties of the system. We illustrate the application o
f these results with the calculation of the rotational diffusion coeff
icient of a Brownian electric dipole that interacts with a Brownian on
e-component plasma.
