Abstract
This paper deals with the application of two nonlinear observer-based fault detection and isolation schemes to a laboratory hydraulic instal lation under digital control. Both methods employ a bank of observers in order to isolate different faults. Residual generators are develope d which take into account system nonlinearities, model uncertainties a nd disturbances. Practical results demonstrate that faults can be succ essfully detected and isolated.
