WRINKLING OF INFLATED ELASTIC CYLINDRICAL MEMBRANES UNDER FLEXURE

We investigate the bending of inflated cylindrical elastic membrane tu bes with particular reference to the initiation of wrinkling and the s ubsequent deformation. While the equilibrium equations reduce to quadr atures we still require a numerical evaluation. Both incompressible an d compressible materials are considered and we look at different ways of constructing the (post wrinkling) shape of the membrane.
