Several papers addressed the epidemiology of mental disorder in prison ers, moving into an evaluation of services and suggestions for improve ments. Studies of suicide and self-harm attempted to identify the char acteristics of prisoners at risk. A series of studies was concerned wi th the way in which imprisonment may affect drug use and, in particula r, injecting behaviour.
