Abstract
During the past year, researchers published several trials supporting the efficacy of cognitive-behavioral therapy in the prevention and tre atment of a variety of medical disorders. Applications and advances in cancer, chronic pain, cardiovascular disorders, HIV and AIDS, and obe sity are presented. Future directions for further establishing the use and cost-effectiveness of cognitive-behavioral interventions are disc ussed.
