Ls. Atabekyan et al., INFLUENCE OF METAL-IONS ON PHOTOCHROMIC AND LUMINESCENT PROPERTIES OFSPIROPYRANS IN SOLUTIONS, High energy chemistry, 30(6), 1996, pp. 409-412
The effect of complexation of indoline and phenanthridine spiropyrans
with transition and rare-earth metal ions on photochromic, spectral-an
d-kinetic, and luminescent properties of the spiropyrans in solutions
was studied. The complex formation is accompanied by emergence of an a
bsorption band shifted to shorter wavelengths by 80-120 nm relatively
to that of the ring-opened form of spiropyran in the visible spectral
region; increase in relaxation time of the ring-open forms; and appear
ance of a fluorescence band shifted to shorter or longer wavelengths f
or indoline or phenanthridine spiropyrans, respectively.
