Lg. Chen et al., HEAT-TRANSFER EFFECTS ON NET WORK AND OR POWER AS FUNCTIONS OF EFFICIENCY FOR AIR-STANDARD DIESEL CYCLES/, Energy, 21(12), 1996, pp. 1201-1205
A performance analysis is performed on the air-standard Diesel cycle u
sing finite-time thermodynamics. The relations between net work and/or
power, efficiency, and compression ratio, and the maximum net work an
d/or power and the corresponding efficiency bound are derived for the
cycle with heat-transfer considerations. Detailed numerical examples a
re given. The results obtained provide significant guidance to the per
formance evaluation and improvement for practice Diesel engines. Copyr
