Conducting scientific research through time tested methodologies like
questionnaires and interviews could be expensive and time consuming. I
n the past two decades, several researchers in the field of behavioura
l science tried out a less expensive option: observation. Appreciating
the positive attributes of the tool, the author employed the method i
n a post-implementation evaluation of the North American Skyway System
, during the summer of 1990, and concludes that observation could be e
ffectively used as a tool in various quantitative research works, wher
e funds are limited.
