Abstract
Stable growing callus cultures were recovered from stem segments of Ta xus baccata. Callus developed from the peridermal cells. The content o f taxol in callus tissues varied in the range of [0.0003-0.001% on dry weight basis] and was higher in fast growing calli compared to slow g rowing calli.
