SYNTHESIS OF TRIS(DICYCLOHEXYLAMIDO) TITANIUM AND ZIRCONIUM CHLORIDE AND THE STRUCTURE OF (C-HEX(2)N)(3)TICL

Reaction of MCl(4)(THF)(2) (M = Ti and Zr) with excess LiNCy(2) in pen tane affords crystalline (c-Hex(2)N)(3)MCl in greater than 70% yields. The products were characterized by H-1, C-13, 1H and C-13 HETCOR NMR, and MS techniques. Crystalline (c-Hex(2)N)(3)TiCl was also characteri zed by a single-crystal X-ray structure.
