Abstract
The pyrolysis of a Moroccan wood species (Acacia mearncii) under an in ert atmosphere has been studied by thermogravimetry and dilatometry. T he wood undergoes contraction depending on the direction measurement r elative to that of the annual growth rings. The contraction is greater in the direction perpendicular to the annual rings compared with the parallel direction.
