P. Bruel et al., A PSEUDO-COMPRESSIBILITY METHOD FOR REACTIVE FLOWS AT ZERO MACH NUMBER, International journal of computational fluid dynamics, 7(4), 1996, pp. 291-310
The pseudo-compressibility method is extended to the case of turbulent
reactive flows at zero Mach number. The resulting scheme is applied t
o the calculation of two different reactive flows i) a 1-D planar turb
ulent flame ii) an axisymmetrical turbulent flame stabilized in a stag
nation point flow. The results confirm the extreme sensitivity of the
rate of convergence to the value of the pseudo-compressibility factor.
They show in particular that the criterion used in the inert case to
determine the optimal value of this factor is still valid if the refer
ence velocity is chosen in the burnt products.
