Abstract
To elucidate the influence of the nature of N-acyl substituent on anti oxidant properties of carcinine analogs, the corresponding histamine d erivatives were synthesized. Antioxidant activity of the compounds pre pared was investigated in the Fe2+-ascorbate-dependent system of oxida tion of the linoleic acid micellar solution. Conformations of carnosin e, carcinine, and their analogs were calculated by the molecular mecha nics MM(+) method. The structural elements and conformations that are preferable for the appearance of antioxidant activity were found.
