A. Greve et H. Neckel, ON THE CONSISTENCY OF SOLAR LIMB DARKENING OBSERVATIONS AT UV WAVELENGTHS (2000-3300-ANGSTROM), Astronomy & Astrophysics. Supplement series, 120(1), 1996, pp. 35-39
Limb darkening observations are important for the construction and ver
ification of solar model atmospheres. We investigate the consistency o
f solar limb darkening data, published for the UV wavelength region be
tween 2000 and 3300 Angstrom, from the comparison of F/I-0 ratios base
d either on direct limb darkening observations or on absolute irradian
ce (F) and disk-center intensity (I-0) measurements. There exists a di
screpancy between the limb darkening data of Moe & Milone and other, d
irect or indirect, limb darkening observations.
