Abstract
The relationship between the Boltzmann-Langevin and Boltzmann-Uehling- Uhlenbeck. models is studied. To reveal pronouncedly the physical grou nd without complicated consideration, this problem is treated within t he relaxation-time approximation. It is shown that, at the averaged le vel, fluctuations lead to an additional collision term with a medium-m odified transition rate, which can give rise to critical scattering in the vicinity of unstable regions.
