Abstract
I review the interpretation of the recently discovered cosmic microwav e background fluctuations over intermediate angular scales and their i mpact on several topical issues in cosmology. These are early reioniza tion of the universe, large-scale power as measured in deep galaxy sur veys, and halo baryonic dark matter.
