Abstract
New discoveries of Silurian and Devonian vertebrates in China and thei r palaeogeographical significance are reviewed. The Middle Paleozoic f ish assemblages of the Tarim basin are similar to those of South China . Fossil vertebrate evidence shows the appearance of the Chinese platf orm in Middle Paleozoic and its close relation with East Gondwana at l east in Early Devonian.
