Abstract
Two new species of Tethyidae (Porifera Demospongiae), Halicometes ston ei from the Andamane Islands and Stellitethya murrayi from the South-A rabian cease, on material coming from the Natural History Museum of Lo ndon, are described. H, stonei is a stalked species characterized by l arge oxyasters while S. murray is encrusting with typical giant megast ers, the largest for all the Tethyidae.
